Resume Basics
A
few points to keep in mind –
1.
The
resume should be viewed as a sales
document – not a historical document. i.e. Tell the reader not only
what you did, but - more importantly - how
well you did it.
2.
Resumes
should be specifically tailored and targeted for each position.
3.
Briefly
describe the function of each employer, size, marketplace and your
responsibilities.
4.
Use
bullet points to highlight your specific accomplishments. (Promotions,
recognition, exceeding expectations, build volume/cut costs/shorten
time frames, etc.) Use
numbers whenever possible.
5.
Long
paragraphs don’t get read!
6.
Any
category of bullet points should be limited to 6 or 7 items.
Full sentences are not mandatory.
PLEASE
- no typos or grammatical errors!
(With spell check it’s so easy!)
